Mayor's Gallery

On behalf of the City of Sanford Public Art Commission, welcome to Art at City Hall, another temporary public art exhibit located right here at City Hall, 300 N. Park Ave. Sanford 2nd floor.  This newest installation is a Student Exhibition of Art from Seminole State College Center for the Fine & Performing Arts’s.

 Seminole State College Exhibit

On display through Summer 2025

The exhibit is open during City Hall hours, Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30 pm.

Experience a vibrant tapestry of artistry from Seminole State College’s Center for Fine & Performing Arts Gallery. This exhibition features the evocative works of Painting and Drawing professor Tammy Lawless alongside the keen insights of Lab Assistant Marina Burgner. Tammy’s large, non-representational paintings captivate with their playful complexity, weaving together the tangible and intangible with brightly colored narratives that echo the innocence of childhood. In contrast, Marina’s paintings and printmaking vividly reflect Florida’s wildlife, delving into the quiet yet brutal reality of nature through the interaction of predator and prey. Together, their works promise a dynamic exploration of the natural world and human imagination, an unmissable experience for all art enthusiasts.

Don’t forget the Art in Chambers public art exhibit too, a temporary exhibit of art works on display in the City of Sanford Commission Chambers and main lobby.
